You’re not always there to work, sometimes it’s just to look.

After a long hot day in LA at Create & Cultivate — I’m glad to have met as many women as I did here!

Conferences and conventions have been some of the most important rooms of my career. Seriously. Like, for real for real.

For years I went to see which clients were out there, connect with brands, and collect business cards. Some people were hesitant to hand theirs over, which, honestly, is a little funny. You paid good money to be somewhere designed for connecting, and now you're deciding whether to connect? INSERT FACEPALM HERE. People are funny. I also wonder what the company owner would think if they knew… but let’s not get too deep now…

But that's the point. Most people walk into those rooms and wait. The ones who leave with something are the ones who came to look.

So here's what I'd leave you with: put yourself out there, and put yourself in a position to be open to opportunity!!! It's literally all around us, every day. You just have to be in the room with your eyes open. 👀 And sometimes letting go helps with that too. Taking a minute to adjust from the hunger game of getting work all day long to easing into something like, “oh… I’m just here for the experience!” Can completely change your perspective of a space.

I invite you to try that today at some point. Switch perspective.
