The Space Between

I just got back from Create & Cultivate. It was my first time this year and it was so empowering to feel and see so many women around me doing what we're all doing. Craving and creating connection. Asking questions. Looking for support and answers. It had me on HIGH. And as I made my way to the airport I was reminded, as I always am, that I'll have to maintain that "high" in my own space. Without the energy of other founders and creatives around me.

And then it hit me… duh! That's why I've created the space I've been led to create. THAT is why it exists! It's like I can't even type quickly enough to keep up with the realization I'm sharing right now about why we need each other. Why it's so important as human beings to connect and be connected to each other.

I've seen a lot of patterns over these last few months as I slowly opened up the doors to this space. During covid, they should have never called it "Social Distancing." That caused a lot of subconscious confusion. What it was, was just Physical Distancing. But look what it did to us. We are the most social beings and yet we find ourselves talking ourselves out of showing up for a virtual call because... of what? There's no real reason really. We're only our own worst critics and no one sees what we see in ourselves. And the worst part is, if we allow this to spiral, like some have, the cycle continues. Leading us to continue to not show up even for ourselves.

You know, I'm at an interesting point in all this. Stepping away from being an exclusive agent and moving into a space that I know I was meant to create for and with the creative industry. I'm realizing I'm up against a post-covid world. But I also see we need it more now than ever.

We need each other.

We need support.

And we need accountability — At least that's a word that's been repeating a lot lately from creatives.

And for those of you who are considering or in the midst of a pivot or change yourself. I share with you this — There was an owner who spoke over the weekend who gave us all a gentle reminder. When you pivot, remember that there is always a lull. Starting over doesn't come with immediate success and achievement. I stop even now realizing that in that moment when she said that, I was okay with using that to validate my fears. My fears of wondering if this is all going to work out, knowing this would take time. And A LOT of my energy.

And then, now coming back home to the Bay, I have the quiet and the calm I needed to hear from inside myself, that what she said isn't entirely true either. I am SO happy and grateful to hear and receive the responses that I have about what I've poured hours and some sleepless nights into. It's not been silent. It might be steady, and yes it will take time. But in the meantime, it truly is about the momentum of it all.

The continued flow of waking up and pushing "go."

I look forward to each and every call every Thursday with everyone in the Circle space. I explained early on to a lot of people that I made this space for them but also for me. I have so much to give and so much to share. I'm a FREE AGENT!!! LOLOLOL!!! And I'm fulfilled and excited when I know and hear that someone connected and messaged just to thank me for that. THAT is my fire.

This always has been. And always will be why I do what I do.
